I had a trip to Kagawa Prefecture last Nov. 23 - 25. The trip's purpose was to visit art spots.
On the first day, We ate savory local foods, fresh fish, Tempra...And check-in at Okura Hotel Marugame, the room where we stayed was nice and relaxing because of the ocean view.
The next day, we visited
Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art. Genichiro Inokuma is my most favorite artist. "Genichiro Inokuma - Works during World War II" was featured in the exhibition. He joined an army as a painter at WW II. The picture above is his artwork at Burma(Myanmar.) Other painters during this time made a painting that shows the bravery of the people to fight back, while in Inokuma's painting is very contradicting instead of painting about war, his painting shows curiosity of the native people from the foreign country during WW II. It is very appealing and interesting to me.
The museum is designed by famous architect Yoshio Taniguchi which has sophisticated and elegant spaces. I felt good there.
Visiting Genichiro Inokuma's museum was my dream for a long time, that's why I am so glad and so happy that I was able to visit there, it's like a dream come true.
After that, we crossed the sea by ferry to Naoshima Island. (To be continued next article.)
