To tourists who are planning to visit Tokyo, you might think of going to some Japanese traditional towns with a nice atmosphere, and Kagurazaka could be one of your candidates. Yes, it's a nice choice. Kagurazaka is good to sightsee. Today I will share four recommended spots in Kagurazaka. Kagurazaka has a main street named "Kagurazaka street" which has a lot of shops along on their own. But my recommendation is its back street. This street located parallel to Kagurazaka street at North where the famous shrine Akagi-Shrine is situated there. All of the shops in this article is placed in this street.
"Kado" is a casual kappo restaurant that that has been renovated and now offering tasty food. In this restaurant, you have to behave as like a real Japanese. At the entrance, you need to take off your shoes. And in the inside, you sit down on the floor in front of "Ozen", which is a very low table. At first, you may be baffled, but you could relax in the congenial atmosphere.
You can eat a meal with the common touch which is affordable at lunchtime. And at nighttime, you can enjoy a wonderful dinner too with Sake. The picture on the right is how Kado looks like.
Have you heard of "Kuzu"? Its English name is arrowroot. It is a powdered product of a root plant. "Tokyo Matsuya Honten" is Kuzu's specialty shop which is old and historical where arrowroot cake, arrowroot starch gruel are offered and many more.
My favorite sweet stuff in this shop is "Higashi." Higashi is also called "Rakugan." Higashi is made of Kuzu powder and sugar. Very simple. It's a hard material but when you bite it, it dissolves in your mouse. I love this rustic sweet stuff. It is completely dried and lasts a long time. So it is perfect for a souvenir. In comparison, Tokyo Matsuya Honten is found within an Italian style building like this picture bellow. It's kind of interesting.

The next shop I'm showing you is "Jokogumo." (The pronunciation is "Yokogumo.") This Shop provides crafts around Japan. You can find handmade and good-quality daily commodities. At the far end of walking around Kagurazaka, you will reach "Iidabashi station." There you will find a moat just along where the "Canal Cafe" is located. On sunny days, you might want to enjoy having tea or beer with Italian food here. I wish you can visit Kagurazaka wander to enjoy a full experience.
